Amy specializes in treating Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. Amy begins working with women in the pre-pregnancy and prenatal period by helping them prepare for the emotional adjustment to motherhood. She continues working with women after they give birth and also serves mothers who have experienced difficult pregnancies, birth trauma and loss in pregnancy. She has completed training with Postpartum Support International.

Amy also specializes in treating attachment and bonding difficulties, while working with caregivers and their children up to age 12. She is an experienced TBRI Practitioner, who has completed intensive training with the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development in Trust Based Relational Intervention. She has also trained with the Theraplay Institute and has completed Levels 1 and 2 of Theraplay training. Melissa has over 20 years of experience partnering with her clients to help them build their best lives. She is one of only a few therapists in the state of Wisconsin with the DBT Linehan Board Certification as a DBT therapist. In addition, she has had intensive training in Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO DBT) for persons who have over-control tendencies associated with chronic, treatment resistant depression and anxiety, obsessive compulsive personality disorder and anorexia nervosa. Kurt's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and coursework toward a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with clinical supervision at Vermont State University.


Outside his counseling practice, Kurt finds balance and rejuvenation through various activities. He enjoys spending quality time with his family, engaging in outdoor pursuits, hunting, practicing mindfulness and meditation, reading, running, walking, and maintaining a fitness routine.
